EUROCERT: Global First in the Verification of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for EKO
EUROCERT successfully completed the independent verification of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for a wide range of lubricating products of HELLENIC FUELS & LUBRICANTS S.A. (EKO).
The verified products include the following categories:
The verification was carried out in accordance with ISO 14025 and the applicable Product Category Rules (PCR): Lubricating Products, 2025:06, while the EPDs have been published on the International EPD System® platform.
This development marks a significant milestone for the industry, as it represents the first-ever global verification of EPDs for lubricating products.
The verification process was based on a comprehensive Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), covering all stages of the product life cycle—from raw material extraction to end-of-life—fully aligned with international standards.
